Our Paint Samples Help You Choose the Perfect Color

At Larkin Painting, there are many aspects we must consider in order to ensure your complete satisfaction with our work. Every project is different and all of our clients are unique and have their specific tastes and preferences. We often emphasize how preparation determines the quality of the outcome. We must also consider how “right” our clients’ color choices are. Our work quality can be perfect, but a client must love the color he or she chose also. Yes, the walls, trims and cabinetry are now protected by beautiful coats of paint, but the wrong color can tank the atmosphere of a room and how much it is actually enjoyed.

If you are like a lot of people, the sheer choice of colors available these days can be overwhelming. How do you choose? How do you ensure that you don’t choose the wrong color for your walls? How do you know you have made the right color choices? As your professional painting company, we take several steps to ensure that you enjoy the painting process and love the end product. First, if you don’t have a specific color or color family in mind for your space, we offer color consultation to make the process easier and less stressful for you. After you choose colors that speak to you, we select several different areas of the space to “audition” your colors. As you know natural and artificial lighting affect the way we perceive color. A particular blue on a wall may look blue in the afternoon, but gray in the evening. A particular green may feel cozy during the day but too dark in the evening. You need to love the color in all of its “appearances” at every time of day and in every season.

Sometimes clients cannot choose between similar colors or they want to be able to have the sample colors in different areas of a room. We can easily paint sample swatches on the walls, but in these cases, painting samples on boards allows for more versatility. A client can move the boards separately. The boards can also be moved to different areas of your home when the mood strikes, as you might change your mind about which room you want painted a certain color.

The third step in this process, is organization. We apply two coats of the sample colors to its corresponding board or to the walls of each room. We label the colors with its name and code. This step makes it easy for you and for us to identify the color of your choice and keep all of the beautiful colors organized.

Finally, it is very important that you know that even with a lot of effort and color “auditions”, you still might not be happy with your color choices or have a hard time choosing between two or three similar colors. This is perfectly fine. We can apply as many samples as you need until you find the color that will make you happy and comfortable in your space. We know how difficult this decision can be. That is why we are here-to make this process not only as painless as possible, but enjoyable.
