Sophisticated and Bold Bedroom Makeover

We transformed our client’s dark blue guest bedroom with classic neutrals and a sophisticated wallcovering. We were privileged to work with Hammond Design, the design firm on the project. They have an impeccable eye and always approach each design with thoughtfulness, careful planning, and sustainability. Their creations are always stunning and their clients are always delighted. 

This project was no exception. Our client’s guest bedroom was dominated by a dark blue paint color on the walls and baseboards. They hired us to lighten the look and feel of the room.

We primed the walls to block out the blue color and to prevent it from bleeding through the new, lighter-hued paint color. We also primed the accent wall so that it could receive and support the gorgeously bold wallpaper selected by our clients. Mike Bradshaw Wallcovering Inc. expertly cut, draped, and installed this unique focal point. We also painted the ceiling as well as inside and around the skylight area.

Our clients chose the color, Nimbus, a part of Benjamin Moore’s Classic Collection. For the accent wall, they chose the pattern Zirconia from Osborne & Little. The hue of this wallpaper consists of blue and yellow tones which pop perfectly against the neutral walls. This bedroom is a wonderful example of how to combine a neutral wall color with a bolder wallpaper pattern. The result is a sophisticated and comfortable space that is not overwhelmed by color or pattern.
