Wellesley Repaint Project for a Long-time Customer

At Larkin Painting, it is a part of our mission to create a community. One of our long-time community members is selling her Wellesley house that was her home for many years. She needed to make a few changes to prepare her home for the market; namely she needed us to repaint her living room. We were happy she called us to help her with this transition, as she prepares to move to a new home.

Before

Our client’s front living room was a lovely, subtle blue. However, when it comes to home-selling blue living rooms aren’t for everyone. She chose a neutral beige-gray to appeal to a wider set of potential buyers, Royal Flax by Benjamin Moore. It did the trick and toned down the atmosphere in the room. The Navajo White (also by Benjamin Moore) trim provided just enough contrast. The room is gorgeous. The architecture is stunning.

Certain rooms in a home really capture attention of a buyer. A room’s placement in the house and the architectural  details can make it the star of the home. Our client’s living room is one of those rooms, so it was essential to ensure its appeal to as many potential buyers as possible. While the previous color was beautiful and understated, the fresh coats of Royal Flax gave the room a fresh, modern yet welcoming feel.

We also did some work in the kitchen. The kitchen cabinets still had its original factory paint finish, but the surfaces showed the marks of wear and tear from years of everyday use. Any kitchen can always benefit from a clean, fresh look. However, when preparing to sell a home, it is essential that the kitchen shine and appeal to potential buyers. Everyday wear and tear can greatly diminish a kitchen’s appeal. You can see from the picture below that we restored the cabinets’ original gleaming surface-no more scuffs or scrapes. The cabinets look like they were just delivered from the factory.
