Create Your Unique Bedroom with Color – Part 1

There is no quicker way to change up your bedroom than to change up your wall color. Paint color can be a daunting design subject but we make it easier by dividing your color and design choices into specific categories. We will explore ways to makeover your bedroom with bright, trendy, patterned, and dark colors.

Bright Bedroom Colors

We identify pure bright colors by their lack of brown or red undertones. If your bedroom is dark with little natural light, bright paint hues lighten the mood of your bedroom. Blues and greens, especially turquoise blue or jade green, energize darker rooms.  In contrast, sunny, clear yellows are perfect for a bedroom that has a lot of windows or natural light in your bedroom.

Trendy Bedroom Colors

Choosing from the current hues featured on runways is another way to jazz up your bedroom design. Instead of using one trendy color,  combine two classic colors such as gray and white to create a trendy palette. Elevate your bedroom design by choosing to combine two trendy colors. Millennial Pink and Dove Gray create a trend-worthy yet soothing combination.

Patterned Bedroom Colors

Patterned colors is a design cousin to combining two colors in one room. Patterned design is a surefire way to add a unique and stylish flair to your bedroom. For a truly bold look, you can use a light color and a dark color for your patterns. If you want a more subtle pattern, choose two pastel or light colors. Stencils and tape are useful tools to create perfectly crisp patterns. You can create your own pattern, or try chevron patterns or even the four-color buffalo check pattern. Patterns can overwhelm a space if not done correctly. If you are unsure of how much pattern is too much to use in your bedroom, this design is also perfect for accent walls. Our clients love this more “cautious” technique to add pop to their bedroom design.
